MVWSD Facts / Sources
Sources and method
Every number on these pages comes from a document the district filed with the California Department of Education in the Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS) format. The documents are public. Copies are collected in a shared folder so the page references below can be checked.
Documents
- MVWSD 2019-20 Budget (SACS, July 1 budget adoption)
Adopted budget, filed at the start of the fiscal year. Scanned PDF; figures read by OCR and checked against printed totals.
- MVWSD 2020-21 First Interim Report (SACS)
First interim report, filed in December with the original adopted budget alongside. The district archive has no June 2020 adoption file; the first interim report carries the original adopted budget column.

Test results
Students pages use the California Department of Education’s CAASPP research files (Smarter Balanced English language arts and mathematics, and the California Science Test) for test years 2018-19 and 2020-21 through 2024-25, downloaded from caaspp-elpac.ets.org. District rows are CDS 43-69591; county and state rows are the published totals. Cells with fewer than 11 students are suppressed by the state and shown as a dash. No testing took place in spring 2020.
Statewide salary rankings
Percentiles use the California Department of Education’s Form J-90 (Report of Teacher Salary and Benefit Data) for 2024-25, published at cde.ca.gov/ds/fd/cs as an Access database (j902425.exe). Table TSAL125 holds one row per district with the superintendent’s salary and service days, average principal salaries, and the teacher schedule minimum and maximum; tables TSAL225 and TSAL325 hold each district’s salary schedule and the teacher FTE at every step and column. County offices of education are excluded; percentiles count ties as half.
Compensation documents
Contracts and salary schedules are read from the districts’ own published PDFs and board agenda attachments. Payroll figures are from Transparent California’s listings, which publish each district’s reported payroll by employee; only job titles are carried onto these pages.

What was extracted
Form 01 (General Fund, unrestricted and restricted combined): every revenue and spending line by object code, the printed subtotals, and the fund balance section. Each filing carries two columns of interest: the prior year’s estimated actuals and the budget year’s adopted budget. That yields 14 year-series across the 7 filings.
Form MYP (multiyear projections): the district’s own projection of revenue, spending and change in fund balance for the budget year and the two years after.
Form 01CS, Criterion 2 (enrollment): budgeted and reported enrollment for the three prior years and the budget year.
How it was checked
Text was extracted directly from the PDF for every filing except 2019-20, which is a scanned image. The parser reads each row by its printed column positions, so a value is recorded in the column it was printed in. Every category subtotal the script computes is compared with the subtotal printed on the form, and the revenue and spending totals are compared with the printed grand totals; the build fails if any differ by more than one dollar.
The scanned 2019-20 filing was read with optical character recognition. A row is accepted only if the recognized unrestricted and restricted amounts add up to the recognized total in both the estimated-actuals and budget columns. Rows that failed were checked by eye against the page image. The corrections, with reasons, are listed below.
Dollar figures are shown as filed, with no inflation adjustment. Percentages are computed from the filed figures. Nothing is estimated.
Manual corrections
- 2019-20 filing, object 3302, PDF p. 19: OCR read the 2019-20 OASDI/Medicare total as negative; page shows 1,434,560.00 and D+E = 747,419.00 + 687,141.00 = 1,434,560.00.
- 2019-20 filing, object 1300, PDF p. 19: OCR dropped the 2019-20 unrestricted and total cells; page shows 3,581,883.00 and 4,070,394.00 (D+E = 3,581,883.00 + 488,511.00).
